Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission In Top Gear To Hold October 5th LGA Elections

 

 

 

The Rives State Independent Electoral Commission empowered by Law to Conduct Local Government Election In Rivers State is set for the 2024 Local Government Election which is slated on 5th October , 2024.

 

The Election of the Local Government Chairmen and Councilors has been characterized by Problems following the disagreement between the Governor of the State, Sir Fubara and his godfather, Chief Barr, Nyesom Wike, Now the FCT Minister is now seeing to be holding on the slated date following the plans and arrangement on ground.

 

Today according to a Social Media report by one Warisenibo Tamuno Dan Jumbo, who posted on his Social Media Handle where the Chairman of the Commission  Receives SUV Jeeps for official for the Preparation and running of the Commission.

However, incidents surrendering the election where possible signs that the election may not hold and following all the hijacks in the Rivers State Ruling Party, PDP , where the Governor is seeing not possibly in charge of the Party leadership and it posted many questions where the Governor may be projecting his Candidates and on which platform???

 

Secondly, following the many Law Suits and injunction by the App Progressive Party Led by Chief Okocha who serves as the Caretaker Committee Chairperson (Former) instituted against the PDP, Governor and The RICSE has possibly make people felt the Election May Not hold.

 

But the surface of this new development is a clear sign that the State is Prepared to take up already plans for the Local Government Election in Compliance with Federal Government Law that no more Care Takers in Nigeria mounting the affairs of the Local Government.
