RIVERS LGA POLL UPDATE: Governor Fubara Sets To Swear In Elected Chairmen Today In Government House By 4pm
The Conclusion of the Rivers State Local Government Poll yesterday is still a testimony to may Rivers People following the magnitude of thread posted the Opposition of the Government of Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.
The Governor has faced heat from his Political Father following the supposed destrotion of Party Structure in the State.
The former Governor of Rivers State , Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike Accused the Governor Sir Fubara of destroying the party Structure which he will stop at nothing to allow that in the state thereby heated much political fight and structure Control in the State.
The Boiling Point of their trouble, fight and separation started from there since last year October when the factional Assembly led by Hon Martin Ameahule planed to impeach the Governor but failed following the support of Rivers People who queued behind the Governor during the fight since last year and till date the fight has not ended.
The plan to conduct LGA Election was another fuel to the fight which the planned LGA Poll faces many court orders in an attempt to puncture the planned poll but the Governor Successful conducted the LGA Poll yesterday, the 5th of October, 2024 and immediately scheduled the swearing in today 6th October, 2024.
In a letter from the Rivers State Government signed by the SSG, It reads "His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear-in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4pm".*
The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30pm._
