Nigerians Mourn After Senator Sani Sehu Exposes Their Expenses Which Runs to 13.5 Million Monthly.

The senate is on fire as the exposition from the BBC interview given by senator Sehu Sani who is regarded as an outspoken senator went viral.

The senator told BBC journalist that each senators receives the sum of #13.5 million every month as expensive plus their salary.

He gave a brake down of the money that is allocated to a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria and he stressed that the said amount of money contributes to the unacountability of the Nigeria senate and why most of the senator are in politices.


Shehu Sani, a senator for the governing All Progressives Congress [APC] party, said there is little accountability about how the money is spent.

He said "I called for the payments to be scrapped, saying they are a key reason why people choose to enter politics".

"I decided to bust it open. It was a moral issue," Mr Sani told the BBC.

"The National Assembly is one of the most non-transparent organs of government. It pricked my conscience and I decided to burst the bubble and open the National Assembly to public scrutiny."

The money is paid on top of a senator's salary which is more than $2,000 a month. They also receive a yearly constituency budget of $5.5m.
In a response after BBC try to confirm, the senate agreed to it but said its an associated benefit to their office.
