Governor Wike Breaks Criticism After Re-Engages Contractor To Resume Work On Ogoni/Andoni/Opobo Unity Road
Following the numerous project flagged off by the outgoing Governor of Rivers State in Obio Akpo and Portharcourt city which has given his Governing Style bunch of criticism,the Governor Wike has reengaged the Contractor handling the Andoni/Opobu unity road which has been under construction since 2004.
The unity road which linked four LGA was flagged up by former Governor of Rivers State, Dr, Peter Odili's administration in 2004.
The 15Kilimeters road connects the Andoni,Opobo local Government areas to join Khana LGA.The project was constructed to reasonable length before the then Dr. Peter Odili administration ended but was not giving reasonable attention during the Rt.Hon.Rotimi Ameachi's administration due to political reason.
However,Gov. Wike's first tenure did a little of the project but abounded it for possible political issues. This issues possible came up after the then PDP Chairman,Uche Secondus and Governor Wike fell-apart due to political interest.
The Mr. Project has finally re-engaged contractor for the commencement of the project.The Governor announces the resumption of work on the project after a meeting with the Chiefs from the two LGA in Government house today.
The Governor said, the project was stopped because of insecurity problems in the Andoni/Opobo axis of the state.
He called on the Chiefs and youths of the two LGA to cooperate with the contractor to ensure the work is done for the good of the people and the state.
The Chief of Andoni, Chief Aaron Ikuru speaking on behalf of the Andoni people, congratulates the Governor and promised that the work will be done because the Andoni people have come together in pursue of peace and development.
Dignities and politicians from the two LGA who where presents are the Speaker of Rivers State Assembly, LGA Chairmen of the two LGA, Members of State House of Assembly from the two LGA, PDP Flag bearer, Siminialayi Fubara, aka Sim, Chiefs and Youths fully represented.
