Comrade Cyril Odibo Wins Edo State Labour Party Governor Ticket



 Edo State Governorship election wave has come to the point where every eyes will soon see the direction of the corns. Labour party which is also one of the registered political party has finally concluded their primaries and a flag bearer of the party produced  against September Governorship election.

The Labour Party in Edo State has elected one Comrade Cyril Odibo as its governorship candidate for the September 10 governorship election.

A total of 126 delegates participated in the election.

Comrade Odibo polled 96 votes to defeat Pastor Amos Areleogbe who scored 17 votes while three votes were voided.

A former Private Secretary to Chief Obafemi Awolowo and a renowned poet, Mr. Ofeimu Odia, did not participate in the primaries.

He was said to have boycotted the primaries over the N7m fee for the party’s nomination form.

Comrade Odibo in his acceptance speech called on his rivals to join him in taking the party to the next level.

National Secretary of the party, Julius Abure who conducted the election said the party would lead a vigorous campaign.
