Abia State Governorship Saga Deepens As Chief Judge Disappears

Abia - The Abia state chief judge, Justice Theresa Uzoukwu, who was supposed to have performed the inauguration of Samson Ogah as the new governor of the state was no where to be found, PM news reports.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier on Thursday, issued Ogah a Certificate of Return, thus withdrawing the one that earlier by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and paved the way for the swearing in of Ogah.

A Federal High court in Abuja had on Monday asked INEC to cede the Certificate of Return issued to Okezie Ikpeazu to Ogah, who was his opponent in the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary.

Ogah had dragged the governor to court for lying about some of the information he submitted to the PDP during the primary, according to News 24

Giving his ruling, Justice Okon Abang,ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately issue a certificate of return to Ogah, who polled the second highest number of votes in the primary.

The judge also ordered the Chief Judge of the state to swear in Ogah as the substantive Governor of Abia State according to News24.
