The Safety Of Corp Members In Gokana Is Assured

According to the press secretary to the serving Care Take Committee Chairman of Gokana Local Government Area In Rivers State under the Wike led administration,  Dumka T. Kote said that in line with Governor Wike's  zero tolerance in the area of security in the state, the Honorable Chairman of Gokana LGA has put plans in place to make the days of the Corpers serving in Gokana to be saved and Joyous.

Youth Corps members deployed to Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State has been assured of their safety during their service year in the area.

Caretaker Chairman of Gokana Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Dum-iye stated this while addressing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Batch B, Stream 2 Corps members posted to Gokana, at the Council Secretariat, Kpor.

Represented by the Supervisor for Youths and Sports, Mr. Tudor Fulbel, the Gokana council boss said he will not toy with the issue of welfare and safety of the Corps members at all time, assuring that the Local Government Council will do all within its powers to make their stay in the area a memorable one.

Hon. Dumiye said though the area have some security challenges, it will soon be a thing of the past, as security agents in the area has been charged to deal with anyone who tries to breach the peace enjoyed by the people of the area.

Hon. Dumiye hinted that accommodation for the newly deployed corps members to the area is also assured.

He enjoined the Corps members to see Gokana as their home away from home, and contribute their quota to the peace and development of the area, and Rivers State at Large in line with the New Rivers Vision of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
