Daniel Onjeh, who contested on the platform of APC in Benue state was defected by Senator David Mark again to claim his sit at the National Assembly.
Daniel has stood a strong opposition to former senate president due to the APC firms in the nation.
In its ruling on Thursday, June 30, the tribunal struck out the petition filed before it by Daniel Onjeh, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the February 20 rerun in Benue South senatorial district.
Upon the petition at the state tribunal, Justice Dipeolu had in October upheld the election of the former Senate president. Not satisfied with the verdict, Onjeh appealed the case which eventually led to the nullification of the election and a rerun ordered. A rerun was conducted after the Appeal Court annulled the March 28, 2015 election of which Mark was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Senator David Mark won the election and He also won the rerun that was conducted .
However, Daniel Onjeh approached the Tribunal to declare him winner but Mark asked the court to struck out his pleads because it was done outside the 21 days as stipulated by the constitution.
