National Teachers Day Celebration: Atiku Lashes President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Over School Teachers' Stuggles Claiming Because No C^^tificate.

 

 

 Former Vice President and Strong Contender of The Presidential Slot Come 2027 Election and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Bola Tinubu over the economic pressures weighing on Nigerian educators and families, asserting that leaders who cannot recall their own educational background are ill-equipped to address the plight of teachers.   

 

Atiku In a statement issued on Monday, October 5, by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Atiku reflected on his early schooling in Jada, crediting his primary teachers with shaping his trajectory after the early loss of his parents. 

 

He contrasted his personal experience with President Tinubu’s public controversies regarding his academic history.  

“It is both revealing and deeply embarrassing that Bola Tinubu cannot name a single teacher who stood before him or a classmate who sat beside him,” Atiku stated.

“Teachers are the architects of every nation’s future, and their welfare must go beyond ceremonial praise on Teachers’ Day. Government cannot praise teachers on this day and leave them to face hardship for the rest of the year. A commemorative message cannot pay a teacher’s bills.”

 

 

 

Highlighting the realities facing the workforce, Atiku noted that educators are struggling against soaring inflation affecting basic food items, transportation, housing, and utility tariffs while stagnant wages fail to keep pace with living costs.  

 

The former vice president, who also founded the American University of Nigeria, offered an apology to Nigerian teachers on behalf of the political class for systemic failures in governance. He pledged that a future ADC administration would implement structured policy reforms designed to lower basic living expenses, create stable employment, and guarantee dignified compensation for educators across the country
