INEC Boss, Professor Amupitan Declares 103 Million Registered Voters On INEC Register For 2027 Elections.

 

The Chairman of INEC, Professor Joash Amupitan Declares Total Registered Voters to be 103 Million after conclusion of Voters registration Exercise conducted between August 2025 to July 2027.

The Chairman Says This In Preparation towards The January and February Election. 

The Chairman Says The Largest Demographic Voters Are Between The Ages of 35 to 49 Years  on the INEC Registration Register which amounts to 43 Million Registered Voted From The Total 103 Million Voters.

Mr Amupitan explained that the voter register grew to 103 million registered voters following the three phases of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise conducted between August 2025 and July 2026.

He said the first phase, conducted from 25 August to 10 December 2025, registered 2,611,266 voters.
    
According to The Chairman, Professor Amupitan,the second phase, which ran from 5 January to 17 April 2026, registered 4,121,825 voters, while the third phase, conducted between 11 May and 26 July 2026, registered 3,867,997 voters.

In total, the three phases produced more than 10.7 million new registrations, subject to biometric verification by the commission.
