Its No More News That The People of Ogoni has Struggled, Disagreed and on her Way To Expected Solution To The end disagreements between The KAGOTE ,DIALOGUE COMMITTEE AND THE ENTIRE OGONIs since the Federal Governments Intends to Resump Oil Activities in Ogoni Land.

The Bone of Contention was The inconclusiveness in The Supposed Agreement to be submitted to Federal Government onbehalf of Ogonis.

 

However, Chairman of the Ogoni Dialogue Committee (ODC), Prof. Don Baridam, has welcomed the recent public declaration by the President of KAGOTE, Chief Lesi Maol, to put behind the differences and tensions generated in Ogoni over the past two months.

 

According to Ogonirant Report, Baridam, speaking on behalf of the facilitators of the ODC, also welcomed Maol’s call for an end to insults and personal attacks directed at Ogoni leaders.

He said leadership requires sacrifice and a commitment to the common vision and aspirations of the people, urging Ogonis to draw lessons from the painful experiences of the past.

According to Baridam, previous divisions in Ogoni had resulted in loss of lives, shattered relationships and devastated communities, setting the people back for almost three decades.

 

He cautioned against a repetition of such experiences, saying consultation, interaction, patience and tolerance should guide the conduct of stakeholders as Ogoni moves forward.

Baridam also called for deliberate and systematic efforts to address what he described as the damage already caused by the recent disagreements.

“We must all work together to rebuild trust, restore relationships and strengthen the unity of our people,” he said.

 

The ODC Chairman said the facilitators fully aligned themselves with the principles of forgiveness, reconciliation and peace, expressing confidence that the collective trust of the people in God would guide Ogoni through the current challenges.

His statement followed Maol’s recent public appeal for Ogonis to put their differences behind them and focus on dialogue, unity and the collective interests of the people as talks on oil resumption continues with the Federal Government.
