PHOTOS: Monarch' Palace and Vehicles Raze In Imo State By Unknown Gunmen
The unrest in the Eastern states of Nigeria has grown to a state that the peace within the states can nolonger be assured by Security operatives.
The announcement of sit at home and its consistence implementation has as well crippled the economic potential of the East following violence, killing and destruction of properites.
According to Punch, the attackers threw explosives into the mansion, burning the house, vehicles parked within the compound and other belongings.
A villager told who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity, said that properties worth millions of naira were destroyed by the arsonists.
"The palace of HRH, Eze Ikenolu, the Eze of Ndia Iche Arondizuogu has been invaded by unknown gunmen and the people are in the bushes now,” the source said.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident.
“Frantic efforts are on top gear to arrest the arsonists and bring them to justice," he said.
