Rivers State Drivers Welfare Association Plans Protest IN Portharcourt Says Lekia Isaac, Association Chairman



Road transport workers in Rivers State, Portharcourt has threatened to stage a protest to air their pains due to the activities of the newly formed Rivers State illegal Car parks and road trading.

The chairman of the Drivers Welfare association, Lekia Isaac has established the displeasure after he was hosted on Nigeria Info, a radio station in Portharcourt.

The chairman complained that the activities of the Road Taskforce headed by Hon.Bright Amaewhule


The union noted with dismay that the Bright Amaewhule-led task force, which commenced operations two weeks ago, had been harassing newspaper vendors on the streets.

The Road worker has promised to shot down transport activities in the city if their issues and challenges with the newly formed taskforce is not settled.

The chairman of the Driver's welfare claimed that the Taskforce collect money and unlawfully arrested members of his association, but the Chairman of the Taskforce has denied any form of illegal collection of money.

The association pleaded that Government should provide them affordable environment to do their business to avoid disrespect to the Law of the Land.
