Leave President Buhari Alone Says Lauretta Onochie In Response To Senator Dino's Allegations

Senator Dino Melaye, who is currently having a running battle with the police, gave the hint of his defection on the floor of the Senate. The hint came after the senator raised a point of order (14) at the sitting where he thanked his colleagues, members of the House of Representatives, his constituents and Nigerians for standing by him during his travails.

Onochie, aid to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, has accused Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi west senatorial district, of trying to distract President Muhammadu Buhari from his presidential duties. Onochie, in several tweets yesterday, June 1, also questioned Melaye's mental health and asked whether Melaye's return to the Senate is allowed since he is still standing trial for an alleged criminal case. Onochie made her statement after Dino during a plenary session accused President Buhari of insulting the Senate and demanded an apology from the president.
