 One of the major agenda of President Buhari is to hid down on crime in Nigeria Governance circle. The fight against financial crime and money laundering is on a high speed. The speed has recorded a victim as the former governor of Taraba state is slammed 14 years jail term for stealing over N1.64 Billion naira during his tenure as Governor of the state.

Justice Adebunkola Banjoko of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, today sentenced a former governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, to 14 years in prison without an option of fine.
Nyame, who was Taraba State governor between 1999 and 2007, was charged to court by EFCC for the misappropriation of N1.64 billion while he served as governor.

Delivering a judgement that lasted more than four hours on Wednesda, Justice Banjoko found the former governor guilty in 27 out of 41 counts he was charged with. The judge blamed Nyame for financial recklessness and brazen display of executive power without following due process.
