Ikwerre Nationality Pays Governor Wike Solidarity Visit Calling For His Second Term In Office.

The Ikwerre Nationality in a visit to the Governor of Rivers state endorses him the Governor of Rivers state for the second term.

The people of Ikwerre through the different groups, Traditional rulers, Elders, women, youth and professional bodies in the entire Ikwerre has stamped and stand with the Governor, their son for second term in office as 2019 gradually draw closer.

This was made known in a solidarity visit lead by Prof. Professor Simeon Achinewhu. He told the Governor that the endorsement is based on his developmental work in Ikwerre land and the turn around in the entire Rivers state.

He also informed the Governor that the good people of Ikwerre has unonimously aggreed to crown him with a title "Dike-Ugu" of Ikwerre land according to tradition and custom in a ground reception and recognition.

He said: "The Ogbakor Ikwerre unanimously urge you to accept the call from other ethnic nationalities, various organisations and well meaning Nigerians to run for a second term in office as a result of your numerous achievements.

The Ikwerre groups that endorses the Governor's second term in office includes: Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organisation Worldwide, Supreme Council of Government Recognised Ikwerre Traditional Rulers, Ikwerre Chiefs and Elders, Ikwerre Gospel Ministers Forum, Iwhuroha Women Association, Ikwerre Daughters National Congress, Ikwerre in Academia, Ikwerre in the Media and Okpo Club (Ikwerre Lawyers).

In appreciation, Governor Wike assured the people of Ikwerrre Ethnic Nationality that he will continue to work for the development of all communities of Rivers State.

He urged them to always work in defence of their democratic rights, despite the antics of agents of the Federal Government.

He stated that the administration has made tremendous progress in projects delivery because Rivers people have stood behind during trying times orchestrated by the Federal Government.

Governor Wike noted that the Federal Government has over the last several months worked in very negative ways to hamper the administration's effort to bring developmental dividends to the people of Rivers State.

He said: "If we can achieve this in two and half years, despite the legal challenges we faced, then we will do more for the people of Rivers State.

"We give God the glory that we moved ahead in the interest of our people. The Federal Government has done everything to derail this administration, but we are always succeeding ".

He reiterated his call for through Federalism, saying that he supports South-South Governors calling for the restructuring of the country.

In his speech, the Governor told the people of Ikwerre and Rivers people to reject the mechanism of SAR that the federal Government has placed them to be instrument of rigging during 2019 election, that the people should stand up no matter their threads to defend their right and democracy.

He said, He will not retreat on the fact that there are federal tools used against the state and the well being of the people.

He advised the people of the state and Nigerians not to be deceived by the vein promises of the IG of police as they already have their plans using the SAR but they must fail the Governor insisted.
