Rivers State Governor, Wike Swears In New Caretaker For Degema LGA

The Governor of Rivers State swears in the caretaker Chairperson of Degema Local Government area yesterday after fulfilling all the requirements.

The Governor who wrote the state Assembly last week in the order of governance, has finally appointed the chairperson and approved her appointment.

Mrs Okorite Carrie Adiele was confirmed by the Assembly and approved fit for the appointment. From Yesterday, she became the first citizen of Degama and she is mandated by the Governor to ensure all responsibilities given to her within the hands of the law is carried out to the letter.

According to the Facebook Post by the aid to Governor Wike on Electronic and media, Simoen Nwakaudu, The governor said that the Caretaker Committee Chairman would be sanctioned if she fails to pay workers salaries at any given time.

He directed the Degema Local Government Area Caretaker Committee Chairman to partner with the Chairmen of Asari-Toru and Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas to improve security along the Emohua-kalabari route.

Governor Wike advised the Council Chief to ensure political harmony in the area by carrying all groups along in all programmes. He added that she is expected to create empowerment opportunities for different cadre of people in the LGA.

While congratulating her for the appointment, Governor Wike charged her to live up expectations as a political head.

In thanks to the Governor and all people present, the council boss promised to follow her responsibilities to the best of her ability and she gave all thanks to God who made the journey a reality.

She was so heartful to the Governor who finds her worthy of the appointment and promised not to let the state trust down.

The chairperson of the LGA solicided for the support of the Chiefs,elders, Men, Women, youth and all stake holders of Degema LGA to support her, she als called on the women to pray for her so that the chance given to her to demostrate what a woman in Leadership is all about will not be disgrace.

Finally she pray all people to join her to build a better Degema as they will all forget the past and focus on the future, this she said in an interview.
