Ghana Port Authority To Lunch Paperless Clearing System In August

Ghana economy has experience a dramatic change for the past ten years and the government is doing every thing possible to sustain the peak.
The footprint in the educational sector is a clear remark on the part of the government that they dont want to take the country back to where it has come from.

The newly introduction of the paperless system network of clearing and forwarding operation in the Ghana port speaks volume about the move to sustain the economy and to match the economy into one of the fast growing economy in Africa.

The Ghana Community Network Services Limited (GCNet), will from August pilot a paperless system at the country’s ports, in a bid to ensure seamless transactions.
The General Manager of GCNET, Alwin Hoegerle, explains that the pilot exercise would help adjust the system for a full take-off in September 2017.
“Probably,” he said, “very early in August we will be starting to check everything and I will expect that we will be able to meet the Vice President’s deadline as far as paperless processing is concerned,” he told reporters in Accra on the sidelines of a trade Facilitation Awards.

This follows an instruction from Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia earlier this year, requesting all agencies at the ports to streamline their activities for a paperless transaction in September this year.
The move is expected to reduce the level of human interaction and cut down corruption.
In addition, businesses would be able to save time and money as their turnaround time at the ports will be reduced substantially.

The various agencies have barely two months and some are racing against time to meet the September 1st deadline.
