John Cena is yet another Word Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) success story. Following Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Cena has hit a winning streak in Hollywood with roles in movies including Amy Schumer's Trainwreck (2015). His prowess in the ring earned him millions of fans, and it was during his winning career he met the love of his life – fellow wrestler, Nikki Bella. Fresh from hosting the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, he popped the question to his girlfriend in front of thousands during Wrestlemania 33.

Cena and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson had a bitter war of words in and out of the ring, in a feud that lasted years. Cena vented his fury at his mentor in 2009, calling him a part-timer for leaving the ring for Hollywood. "He's obviously … got his start in the WWE, gone onto movies, but in the process, the whole time while he was in the WWE, he just preached to our fans – who are very loyal – how much he loved the business," Cena fumed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "He says he loves the business so much, but then just up and leaves."

Cena later apolgoized for his remarks in 2016, telling WWE, "He has transcended this business. And I think any time a superstar can give what he's given to the WWE… that's good for all of us."

The wrestler continued to sheepishly backtrack on his comments, telling Sports Illustrated in early 2017 that he was thankful for the opportunities The Rock had created for him, especially since Cena himself had branched out into movies including Trainwreck (2015), and The Wall (2017).

"I'm very thankful to Dwayne Johnson," he said. "His success has gotten me a lot of opportunities that I'm extremely thankful for, and certainly wouldn't have without him. Dwayne's success really helps WWE in letting everyone know that we are more than just WWE supers
