56th National Independence Day Celebration Programe Unfolds By Rivers State Government.



According to the Commissioner for Information And Communication, in a statement said that the 56th National Independence day Celebration activities would commence today Friday 23rd, September, 2016 with Juma't service at the Nigeria Air force base mosque Portharcourt.

The commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George said, on Sunday 25th September,would feature an interdenominational church service at the St' Cyprian Church, Hospital Road, Portharcourt.

In a statement signed by the Information and Communication Commissioner, Dr. Austin Tam-George, the state Government would commissioned some road projects and flag off other projects in the state to make the celebration.

Some of the projects to be commissioned are Ozuoba-Rumuosi Road would be commissioned on Tuesday, September 27 while the Igwuruta-Chokocho Road would be commissioned on Wednesday, September 28.

The Commissioner stated that KPOBIE-BODO CITY'S Road would be flagged off on Thursday, September 29 while Abua-Degema Road would be flagged off on Friday, September 30.

Tam-George said that the reconstruction of the Bonny Waterside Jetty ,left in disrepair for years ,would be flagged off on Monday, October3.

Activities for the celebration would be rounded off with the commissioning of the Nigerian Bar Association Law Centre on Tuesday, October 4.

In same manner of friendship, the commissioner advised road users and residents of this areas to bear with the Government due to any inconvinice that would curs them and pleads with them to come out in mass to give the Governor, Nyesom Wike,con a warm welcome.
