THE GOVERNOR BANNED OKADA IN FOUR LGAS.

As lovers where busy celebrating one another in the spirit of valentine yesterday as is funny called valentine day, the okada riders in Ahoda East,West, Abua Odua, and Ogba Ngbma Ndoni Local government areas of Rivers State where counting their misfortunes as the Governor of Rivers State placed indefinite ban on the use of Okada in this places from 5pm  till 8am. This simple means that the use of Okada for any activities in this locality stopped from 5pm in the evening till 7am the following day.

The ban is to help sanitize these places of ungodly activities that people used Okada to papetrate in this areas of the State.

From souce, the Governor does not have any intention to punish his subjects but  the state can not fold hr hands when things that has to do with securing life and properties in the state is concerned.

The Governor Chief Barr. EzenwnoNyeson Wike adjoined the people to comply with the dcision of the state because is for the good of all so that the state will be in peace.

The people of these LGAS are in different opinion about the decision of the State Governor towards the ban of Okada in their local government areas because that is their major source of economic empowerment. They said as predominate farmer and their farming activities always ends in the evening which is going to affect them seriously since most of their farm is a distant from home, the use of Okada has been a good means of movement to them.

But they will adherence to the rules of the state government to ensure peace and order in the state.

However, some people supported the decision of the government while some people in this localities where not pleased with the decision of the government since they are mostly predominate farmers because the time frame is important to them for their daily activities.

A senior civil servant from Ahoda West, said that the decision of the government will check the activities of Robbers, Kidnappers and cultist that are disturbing the peace of the citizens in this areas.

Elijah, an okada operative in Ahoda  said that the Governor should reduced the time from 5pm to 7am to enable them meet up their daily activities, since okada riding is one of their main livelihood.

The Governor Chief Barr. Nyeson  Ezenwo Wike had appeared to the people that they should bear with the Government the inconveniences this may caused them.
