Ogoni land that has been seriously damaged by the shell Nigeria for the past 35 years of operation before the issue of marginalization of the people of Ogoni and their environment became strong to the points that some of the Sons of Ogoni was brutally murdered by the Government of Nigeria Led by the evil dictator Late Sani Abecha.

Just as Ken.  Saro Wiwa(the leader of MOSOP) said: you can kill the message but you can not kill the messenger. Even after the death of their sons, the case between Ogoni, shell Nigeria and Nigeria Government has gone form stage to stage.

After the UNEP report, the body ordered that Ogoni land be cleaned. The past administration has signed but since the signing, there has not been any kind of implementation.

Damaged Farm Land

During the campaign, the APC candidate promised that the clean-up will be implemented by his 100 days in office. Ever then, the people of Ogonis and the Government has been working towards the implementation.

The question is : when will this state, when will the $10 million  signed by President Buhari be released for work to state, where will the head office of the said companies be located?

According to NTA news yesterday,  people of Ogoni land where seriously reacting to this issues. Hon. Joe Jack, the youth leader and Hon. Celestine  Akpobari, an environmental activist called on the government to speed up the implementation of their promises to the people because the more delay, the more damages it cursed the people of Ogonis since they are farmer predominately.

 Also MOSOP has giving a warning to the Government of their stand against the decision to involve Tom Ateke by any design in the UNEP clean-up exercise.That Ogoni is a peaceful place and can handle their thing on their own.
