Udende explained further that he was giving back to his constituents
who he stated resisted all attempts that were aimed at frustrating his
return to the green chamber last year.
He recalled that while going round to solicit for the peoples support in 2015, he came face to face with some of the challenges faced by the rural dwellers, hence his coming to their aid to enable them engage in meaningful business ventures and in the process better their economic lives.
“This is just a token of appreciation for the support you gave to me during the poll. I must say I am very grateful over the show of love, even as much as you people did not like the PDP, you still elected me on that platform as the only person in the whole of Tiv land and I must say I am grateful, this is the first phase as part of activities to mark my one year in office in my second tenure at the House of Representatives”, he stated.
He expressed concern over the level of poverty in the land owing to the economic crunch, but stressed that the measures being taken by the Buhari administration would herald better tidings.
The APC chieftain frowned at the situation whereby such gestures he had extended to the people during his first tenure were either sold or misapplied and urged them to use the equipment for the primary purpose for which they were donated.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the AUTHORITY on Sunday, including Elder Chiangi Abeke, Ikyuen Ikyo, Emmanuel Shikaan and Mrs Mgunengen Asenge expressed gratitude over the gesture even as they promised to use the items so donated only for the purpose for which they were meant for.
Mrs Asenge who was handed a Bajaj motorcycle, particularly expressed joy saying it was the first coming from an elected official from the area to her.
She called on the people to double their support so that Mr Udende could continue to attract better things to his constituents.
