THE MAYOR OF PORT-HARCOURT,SIR SAM SONI EJEKWU, HON VICTOR IHUNWO(Rivers State House Of Assembly) and HON CHINYERE IGWE (Commissioner For Urban) SUPERVISING THE DEMOLITION OF CRIMINAL HIDEOUTS IN EAGLE ISLAND.

As part of a follow up to the restoration of security in the eagle island neighborhood of Port-Harcourt, the Phalga boss called on the eagle island residents to put all hands on deck in stamping out criminals from the island.

Sir Sam made this known while addressing Press men and residents of eagle island during the demolition exercise that was carried out on criminal spots situated on the island. He exhorted residents to always give ontime security information to relevant authorities and the police about suspected criminal activities happening around them.

Sir Sam eulogized the State Government for the timely security intervention at eagle island and the civilized manner the demolition was being done. He saluted the security agents for their daring and professional display in apprehending some kingpins behind the criminal activities freely carried out on the island.

Furthermore; the Phalga Boss noted that the support given to the State Government by residents of eagle island during the demolition is a clear indication that they were tired of the intimidation and harassment meted out to them by these criminals. He also made known Government’s plan in replacing the demolished batchers with proper development thereby making the waterfronts secured and habitable for people.

The Mayor said ” the actions by GOVERNOR WIKE led administration against criminals in Eagle Island would send a great signal to other criminals resident in other parts of Rivers State that their time is up; because the Government of the day is determined in stamping-out criminality, cult wars and anything that would not mske Rivers State a safe haven for law abiding citizens and investors”.
