Infringement On The Independence of The Legislative Branch of Government Says The Senate.



According to Vanguard report, the Federal government has been warned by the senate of the plans to remove the senate president, senator Saraki and his deputy senator Ekweremadu from office, due to alleged forgery senate rule and implementation of flexible exchange rate which is to take effect today.

The executive said that the move of the presidency to imprison the leadership of the senate will not be accepted by the senate and the presidency should not allow this to disrupt the activities of the senate.

Vanguard reports that the senate has on Sunday, June 19, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the plot by the attorney general, Abubakar Malami and other senior officials of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from using the courts to truncate the senate leadership election for peace to continue in the nation.

The senate warned that any attempt to remove the leadership of the upper house leaders would be seen as an infringement on the the independence of the legislative right of the senate as an aim of the government.

According to Punch News paper, the senate descriped the forgery aganist principal officers of the senate a coup aganist the legislature.

The senate made this known to the public through the head of media and public affairs, senator Sabi Abdullahi.

Yesterday, senator Abdullahi the forgery case as unconstitutional and violation of the principles of separation of powers.

Senator Abdullahi said the plots against the senate leadership was a plot to force party aided leadership on the senate which can not be accepted.

He added that such move is capable of plunging the country into a state of anarchy and constitutional crisis.

The senate spokes man said the "charging" the senate leaders is " unconstitutional" because the matter has been dealt with at the plenary.
