HIGH COST OF RENT AS ABA EXPERENCES DEVELOPMENT

Aba, an economic city in Nigeria and the south south and south East of Nigeria had been in a deplorable condition ever since the democratic dispensation and people has been attaching the sad condition of the city to bad leadership that has governed Abia State all this years. The economic activities in that area of the state has suffered so much that when you remember Portharcourt road and many others streets in Aba , you will be forced to change your mind, no matter how important that transaction may have been.
But the new government led by Governor Ikpazu has transformed Aba within few months to the extend that desolated areas are now becoming heaven on earth.


As Nigeria is experiencing dwindling economy, Aba residents has cries out over high cost of accommodation, before, one room apartment in Aba, was N2,000 or N2,500 depending the location

Now, In Aba, a one- room apartment goes for N3000 per month. While a self- contained goes for N10, 000 per month.

Two bed-room apartment is rented for N12, 000 and above per month, depending on the area, while three-bed room apartment goes between N15, 000 and N20, 000, per month depending on the area and the age of the house.

Residents of Aba are also facing the nuisance of agents who ask for money to register as well as commission.

Abia Government Should do something about this.
